Monitoring emissions in fabrication

Monitoring emissions in fabrication

The Story

Dane Architectural set a target to be more environmentally friendly and decided to install solar panels and LED lighting throughout the works, and electric cars were increasingly adopted by staff.

At this time, no system was in place to monitor their operational carbon, and by extension the reductions they had achieved.

Dane engaged the services of Achilles’ Carbon Reduction Scheme by Toitu, which accredits businesses to ISO 14064-1. Dane achieved accreditation in 2021 and are now working towards expanding their system to incorporate their supply chain. The system allows Dane to confidently report their GHG emissions associated with their fabrication and transportation. This has enabled Dane to develop targeted emission reduction strategies.

Dane are currently exploring how the system can provide actual emission reports on a project basis to aid customers’ project life cycle assessments.
Since taking on the eManage system, Dane have seen a 10% annual average reduction of emissions.
