The government have announced that recognition of CE marking in the UK will be extended indefinitely. This means that CE marking will now be accepted past 30th June 2025 in Great Britain.
In the same announcement, the withdrawal of the National Classes fire testing standards from the statutory guidance given in Approved Document B (ADB) was confirmed. This covers both fire resistance and reaction to fire. A transition period of five years for fire resistance and 6 months for reaction to fire has been given.
The statement also introduces a provision for sprinklers to be installed in new care homes.
